Your Local Psychologist - Here to Guide You
Are you struggling with issues related to identity, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction or major life changes? There comes a time when we need some help from a certified professional to cope with life’s challenges. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and I’d love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
Hello
I am Dr. Naeema Akter
When disconnected and overwhelmed by the world and those around you, you may experience feeling dissatisfied or drained with your relationships, occupation and other aspects of your life. Or you may be curious about your inner experiences and want to learn more about yourself in order to become more self-aware, present, and adept at handling life’s troubles. I believe psychotherapy is a collaborative approach, where I am open and nonjudgmental to your experiences and help you create and live a sustaining life you find fulfilling.

My doctoral training and years of delivering psychotherapy have provided me with extensive experience helping adults with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, identity exploration, and adjustment to life transitions, as well as innumerable other needs. My integrative approach is well-suited for addressing interpersonal and multicultural issues. I work from a social justice-oriented and trauma-informed lens to provide you with culturally competent treatment.
It can be easy to feel stuck in the chaos of managing so many things at once, but you don't have to go through this process alone.
A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
According to the American Psychological Association, “Psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.” Through the use of various psychotherapy methods and collaborative treatment measures, my patients develop life-changing habits to help them cope with any of life’s various obstacles. My therapy sessions are designed to unpack personal issues and provide patients with effective tools to help them see the glass half full instead of half empty.
